Growing Solutions Kenya (GSK) is a program that aims at improving local entrepreneurship in Kenya on the theme of food security and food safety and is executed by a consortium of Dutch private partners in close co-operation with Latia Resource Center. GSK is implemented with support of funds from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The program involves the development of a complete greenhouse technology package for SME vegetable farmers including the supply of quality input, access to finance, capacity building & technical support, and facilitation of (domestic) market access. The greenhouse technology is developed in a modular set-up enabling a low threshold level for starting-up smaller farmers and long-term potential for technological development and growth in farm size for the larger or more experienced farmers. The greenhouse package will be developed and tested at Latia in close co-operation with local private sector parties, knowledge and research organizations, NGOs and governmental organizations.
