The project which funded by The Rotary Club has been supporting communities in semi-arid Kajiado to harvest rain water through construction of ferrocement water tanks. The tanks have a capacity of 10 cubic meters (10,000 liters) and they contribute significantly towards meeting household clean water needs for four to six months of the year. To improve household access to a healthy diet that contains adequate macro and micronutrients Latia is promoting development of small kitchen gardens around the ferrocement water tanks.
